Yar chalay to gaye, but Allah maaf kere!

It was last Saturday night that our family decided to host a dinner for a few “risthadars” (family members) visiting from back home. It took us about an hour an half from Kent to O2! I mean, the traffic in and around London is crazier than Dublin.

Next challenge was parking. There was a concert going on, and it felt like anyone who was anyone in London was there. I am not sure who was singing, but there were not white people there, so that says a lot. From the parking lot to the restaurant, it’s an 8-minute walk, which becomes forever if you have kids along. And, O my God, the crowd!

Anyway, after a long journey, everyone had to go to the toilet 😀 There are literally 2000 stairs lolz (a big of an exaggeration but seriously!) I have never seen such a long “walk of shame” just to get to the toilet.

The restaurant was full of people! I mean, there might be around 200 people at least, all packed in one big hall, and it was loud. Perfect for desi people to be honest 😀 as that’s what we are loud and bold. But that means you can only hear the person sitting next to you. That is not a place for group discussions. Not at least on Saturday nights.

The best thing was the variety of food. I mean, if you are thinking of Desi, that is your place. Did I mention it was a buffet? Well, it was and totally worth it. They had everything from Pakistan to India 🙂

The food tasted good. It was not like from Lahore (love of life); obviously nothing can beat that. But that’s very good considering the target market is both Indian and Pakistani.

Over all, a family that eats together stays together 🙂
