Facts of Edhi Foundation

Now EDHI foundation has an extensive network of 5000 ambulances that helps people across Pakistan. Karachi, the busiest city in Pakistan, reported up to 6000 calls daily, with an average response time for each incident falling within 5 minutes. An EDHI ambulance also picked up the American journalist when he was killed in 2002. EDHI Foundation owns two private jets and a helicopter to help people in those locations, which are very difficult to reach that moment. It also owns 28 boats to aid and help needy and dying people during any disaster.

This organization also runs many private hospitals spread across Pakistan. Additional medical facilities include a diabetes center, blood bank, and immunization centers available in natural calamities and tragedies. Edhi Foundation Adoption

Bilquis EDHI, the co-head of the EDHI Foundation, was also responsible for childcare services and women’s support. She is heading Jhoola Project, Child Adoption Center, and Child Welfare Center, apart from child care services. Jhoola is an Urdu word meaning abandoned child. Most EDHI emergency centers have Jhoola outside the venue for mothers to leave their infants, regardless of the current situation. These children are taken into custody and often adopted by pre-screened families.

The Edhi Foundation has reached out to international communities and assisted with the help of several overseas offices, which assist with donations and significantly financially aiding Pakistanis who have to be flown overseas for urgent medical attention. Faisal Edhi, head of the Edhi Foundation, also wrote a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, offering to help India during the Corona pandemic.
