The International Islamic University, Islamabad, or IIUI, is a public research university located in Islamabad, established in 1980 and restructured in 1985. It is a valuable resource for pursuing higher education in Pakistan. The university is listed by the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan as one of the most recognized universities and prestigious degree-awarding institutions in Pakistan. The International Islamic University, Islamabad is ranked second in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2022. It is the best university in Pakistan for the general category by the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan.

Students from Central and Southeast Asia are particularly attracted to this university. In 2012, Higher Education Commission (Pakistan) ranked fourth among public universities. In February 2014, it was awarded an honorary doctorate in politics and international relations by King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia. It provides undergraduate and postgraduate programs in law, science, engineering and technology, humanities, arts, religious studies, and social and natural sciences.

It is located in Sector H-10, Islamabad. In 2006, the construction of the Central Library and Lincoln Corner was completed. The first phase of the campus construction was completed in 2013 and since then the campus area for women has been functional.
